Whilst we are unsure of the official start to Autumn, today we mark its arrival on this first October day, with an EP from Twincities.

'September Tapes' is a set of gentle, broken pieces which draws a line between the fading warmth of summer and the onset of winter as the leaves begin to turn. The four tracks that are included were put together by Fletcher McDermott and collaborative partner Jesse Asch. Both artists are from Long Island, New York and have recorded on and off together for the last three and a half years. Ordinarily the Twincities sound is Fletcher's solo project but for this EP, he has worked alongside Jesse who provided the guitar recordings that became the spine to this body of work.

Typically, the Twincities sound is created using an original source sample or recording such as sounds from an acoustic or electronic instrument. This is then expanded by building and layering fragments of sound through loops, re-amping using outboard analog studio gear such as a 50 year old tube amp or electronic means such as loopers, pedals and laptop manipulation.

Fletcher has released as Twincities on labels such as Eilean, Game Of Life label, Future Recordings and has an album forthcoming on Mark Kuykendall's Unknown Tone label at the end of 2014.
